On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 Student Leaders: Sophia Draeger, Kylie Matsuoka, and Mahinalani Medeiros helped to promote awareness of the Honaunau Foundation Scholarship at Konawaena’s Scholarship night. As seniors made their way through the crowd of scholarship providers, several stopped to inquire about the scholarship.
The purpose of the fund is to provide a student who attended Honaunau Elementary a chance to pursue a degree. Good Luck to all applicants! You can download our scholarship application HERE. Ironman Foundation donated 12 bicycles and helmets to Honaunau Elementary School. 6 will be awarded December and 6 will be awarded in May. Lucky Recipients: Chaysen Sadumiano-Suzuki, Ember Anderson, Kaimana Adric, Haley Jane Abaya, Jasmine Sosa, Ethan Hayes. Students selected based on the following criteria: Good Attendance, Consistent usage of school uniform, Good Character: RAK – Random Actions of Kindness: Doing something unexpected. All Hawaii public schools will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and operate on normal class schedules. Federal offices will be closed for the National Day of Mourning for President George H.W. Bush. The United States flag and the Hawaii state flag will be flown at half-staff at all state offices, agencies and schools through Dec. 30, 2018.
