Today I began with a typing challenge. All classes had to type the Pledge of Allegiance in two minutes or less. Third Grade had three minutes. Lots of students were able to complete the challenge and get an extra check on their incentive chart! The most commonly asked question during this challenge was, "How do you spell pledge and allegiance?". Great job grades 3,4, & 5! I'm happy to see nearly all our our students are able to navigate the desktop and find Microsoft Word or Open Office.
After this I had students try out a new site, 10 Fast Fingers. This site is a bit easier than last week's Type Racer but still offers a challenge and lots of benefits. With short and easy words, a one minute limit, and a word per minute (WPM) measure for each attempt, this is a great exercise to try at home. One of our fourth grade students holds the school record for typing with 40 WPM! Way to go Skyler!
