WELCOME TO OUR GARDEN
Our school garden is growing! With Ms. Force and Ms. Melissa, we have a great team to help our students. This year we are having a food focused garden. We are planting lots of fruits and veggies for our children to learn about. Students have already harvested sweet corn, tomatoes, and green beans. We have baby bok choy, lots of lettuce, and piles of greens. Pumpkins are on the way and growing behind our raised garden beds. We have beautiful herbs for scent and flavor. Not to mention all the pretty flowers to bring out our honey bees! Our older students are using bigger tools like shovels and a pick axe to dig holes for dozens of papaya trees. They also helped build a new picnic and teaching area from start to finish, including moving and raking lots of mulch, measuring and laying weed mat, and hammering in long staples. The younger grades are keeping the garden alive and beautiful by turning soil, making mulch, and watering our plants. Our garden is a beautiful place to be!
